The Kandy Esala Perahera is one of Sri Lanka’s most spectacular and ancient festivals, held annually in Kandy during July or August. This grand procession, also known as the Festival of the Tooth, celebrates the sacred relic of the Buddha housed in the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.
